Dr. Fotios Tekos

Chief Executive Officer

Fotios Tekos was born in Evosmos, Thessaloniki in 1995.

He is a graduate of the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology of the University of Thessaly. He received an honors degree for his performance in his undergraduate studies, as he obtained the highest grade in his year.

At the postgraduate level, he is a graduate of the Postgraduate Program in Toxicology, where he prepared a thesis entitled “Evaluation of antioxidant & antimutagenic activity of olive and wild olive flower extracts”, with the aim of utilizing this precious flower of the Greek land, which to a large extent (approximately 80%) falls from the tree before turning into fruit.

Subsequently, he completed his doctoral thesis on the topic of “Free Radical Toxicology” at the Laboratory of Animal Physiology of the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, receiving his PhD with Honors from the University of Thessaly.

In addition, he is a lead inspector for ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 22000:2018, certified by the International Certification Body SWISS APPROVAL INTERNATIONAL.

He is a member of the Forbes “30 Under 30 Greece” list of the 30 most influential and successful young people under 30 in Greece for 2024.

He has co-authored 39 articles, published in international peer-reviewed scientific journals and his h-index is 15, while he also holds a patent for an innovative method for evaluating the antioxidant and cytoprotective activity of foods and nutritional supplements.

He is also co-author of the best-selling book “Intermittent Fasting & Disease Prevention”, which is published by Armos Publications in its 23rd edition.

He is a contract lecturer at the University of Thessaly, with assigned courses in Animal Physiology and Biochemical Toxicology.

Finally, since 2022 he has also been the CEO of Olea Fortius, a spin-out of FoodOxys, aimed at utilizing by-products of olive oil, wine and other food products.
